RCD TAGGING

What services does Buildsafe offer for Residual Current Devices (RCDs)?
Buildsafe provides testing and tagging services for Residual Current Devices, commonly known as “safety switches.” These services are exclusively available for residential construction sites in the state of Victoria. In accordance with industry guidelines, RCD testing is mandated on a monthly basis, adhering to calendar months rather than a fixed 30-day cycle.

How does the testing process work?
To initiate the testing process, a Purchase Order is required up front. Once we receive the Purchase Order, the testing is automatically scheduled for the following month.
3
When do we charge?
Standard pricing follows the geographical cycle known as “Suburb Sequence,” aligning with specific areas during that time of the month. If the site is vacant or only at the slab stage, there will be no charge. However, charges will apply once the frame is started, or if there is a meter box on-site. Determining power connection status necessitates plugging into the meter box, resulting in an associated charge.

What is the “Out of Sequence” (OOS) Guarantee?
The “Out of Sequence” Guarantee ensures that testing will be conducted within the next 3 business days, specifically applicable to Metro Areas. Unfortunately, we do not offer the option for testing to occur out of sequence for regional jobs, these must follow standard scheduling process. The OOS charge comprises a base fee of $100 plus GST, in addition to your agreed-upon testing rate.

How does the testing process conclude?
Once the house is fitted off or the PO has run out of tests, the testing concludes. The subcontractor will provide the outcome on iPads, and the contract will automatically close.
